Third US wholefoods store to use fuel cell energy (Feb 1, 2010)

Whole Foods Market has chosen to power a third store, located in San Jose, California, US, with on-site fuel cell power from UTC Power. The other stores to install a ‘PureCell’ system from the company are in Dedham, Massachusetts and Glastonbury, Connecticut.

Service agreement for GE turbines in Thailand (Feb 1, 2010)

Thailand’s largest chemical producer, PTT Chemical Public Company Limited, has signed a service agreement with GE to help ensure the long-term reliability of nine GE gas turbines at PTT Chemical’s site in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province, Thailand.

UK households to get cash back for low-carbon on-site power (Feb 1, 2010)

UK households and communities who install generating technologies such as small wind turbines or solar panels will from April be entitled to claim payments for the low-carbon electricity they produce.

UK-based Ceramic Fuel Cells has sold its first BlueGen domestic-scale, fuel cell-based CHP units in Europe, to German utility EWE, which has ordered three units, for delivery in Q2 and Q3 this year.
