Carbon-free nuclear district heating for the Helsinki area?

Finland’s Fortum wants to use ‘waste’ heat generated at a proposed nuclear power station to supply the district heating system that serves the Helsinki metropolitan area. The carbon emissions benefit would be substantial and the proposed 80 km–100 km pipeline is feasible.

What does it take to make a modern engine oil?

With modern gas engines placing greater and greater demands on the oil that keeps them running, PEi explores the development process and presents the potential benefits of using bespoke synthetic engine lubricants.

Building BritNed ? the first power link between UK and the Netherlands

BritNed, which is currently under construction, is a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine power cable between the Isle of Grain in Kent, the UK, and Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
